Students You Don’t Want to Miss THIS!
Invention Convention Competition is coming to Region 6 this Fall and Spring.
This is the first time ever for this event to be held in Region 6!!
We want to take the best and the brightest inventions to represent our area.
Counties in Region 6 are: Houston, Geneva, Pike, Dale, Barbour, Butler, Crenshaw, Covington, Henry, and Coffee Counties.
What is it? It is like a Science Fair Crossed with Shark Tank for kids! Grades 5th through 12th can compete this year.
Goal: Students are to identify a problem that they face or someone they know faces and then invent a solution that addresses that problem. They will test and refine their work, constantly making improvements. Then on competition day they present their work and sales pitch to the judges.
If you have participated in Science Fairs before you will love this even more. So… What’s next?
As you go back to school check at your school to see if any teachers have attended training for Invention Convention or if they would be willing to be your Supervising Teacher/Adult. If you do not find a teacher then you can ask other responsible adults in your community such as Extension Agents, Boy Scout leaders, Girl Scout Leaders, or Homeschool Teachers etc. to partner with you.
Cost: It is Free to enter this competition, and the first 500 students or teams will get a Free Tri-fold display board to use to display their project.
Next contact one of the following sites to sign up NO Later than September 15th:
(This will allow us to keep you UpToDate on trainings, local competition information, Regional Contest info, and State Competition.)
